Gest will be having a little break now until early Spring 2011. We’ll then be offering our two standard 10 week acting courses (beginners and improvers) as well as planning other one-off workshops and the Gest Experts Course. Gestival
Our latest pubic performance on Saturday 19th June 2010 at a Shot in the Dark, City Road went down an absolute storm. The venue proved perfect for the content - lots of short ‘bites’ of comedy and drama - and the audience seemed to love it, with lots of positive comments after the show. Whilst the staging may have been a little ‘rustic’, the performances were universally praised as being professional and engaging - not bad considering that in some cases the actors had less than two weeks to prepare, whilst holding down demanding full-time jobs, juggling family, etc etc.
We had the added bonus of having Taylor Glenn (another ex-Gester) providing stand up comedy. Taylor’s definitely ‘going places’, with gigs lined up around the UK. She recently qualified for the semi-finals of the Welsh Unsigned Stand-up Awards and is supporting Lucy Porter at the Glee Club this Summer as part of the 2010 Cardiff Comedy Festival.
